Billie Lewis Martin, 81, of 915 Jackson St., Roanoke Rapids, died Sunday, February 22, 2009.

Mrs. Martin was a native of Nash County, the daughter of the late George Washington Lewis and Effie Manning Lewis. She was retired from the Bibb Company with over 49 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reece Payne Martin and her brother, Arnold Lewis.

Mrs. Martin is survived by her daughter, Terry Ancarrow and her husband, Willie Ancarrow, Jr. of Roanoke Rapids; her grandson, Jason Ward; and her brother George Lewis and his wife, Linda, all of Roanoke Rapids. Special thanks is given to her extended family of neighbors.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 24, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at 150 Teakwood Dr., Roanoke Rapids.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.
